My name is Kris DeLano. I'm flattered that people generally say nice things about me.
I’ve been experimenting with photography and graphics for about 20 years. A bit of formal training, yes, but mostly it’s been about the experience. Like musicians where some have tons of classical training and know theory inside and out….I guess I would be more of a feel player. I’m probably like most people and find being in front of the camera a strange and humbling affair. Hopefully i can make the process a little easier on you. Other things about me….I live in Redondo Beach, I teach part-time, find great joy in holding newborn babies, am edging ever so close to middle age and have 6 year old twin boys.

I'll want to know a few things about you and your life and what you want to capture or create and if I’m even the girl for the job. I like questions so ask lots of them and I’ll do the same. If it’s photos you are after I can come to you or we can do a studio session. But I gotta be honest, if you are looking for a photograph of you & your family in white shirts and blue jeans on the beach, I’d be happy to refer you to someone that does that kind of thing. Okay, okay…I might be willing to do it, but can we try something a little different?? I’d prefer to capture what is essentially you (unless of course, you or your family spend lots of time hanging out under the Manhattan Beach pier in matching white shirts and blue jeans).
As for graphic work….i love design and I do have a pretty good eye for stuff. Photo related graphics are my thing. I also have a knack for photo restoration so ask me about that and I’ll provide you with some examples.
Important to note: every photo session includes a CD of all your images. I’m not interested in holding your photos hostage in hopes of overcharging you for prints. Hey, it may not make me rich, but I sure am happy about making that a rule. All I ask is that you be respectful when printing (try not to use Costco, Rite-Aid...etc) and that you grant me exclusive use for promotional material and yes, perhaps for profit if we get some really cool shots. I’d be happy to make prints for you and even do some custom framing. I’m reasonable.
